About Sr. Columbia Fernandez O.P.

Sr Columbia’s ministries spans a wide range of services.

She is a Catechist in the local parish where she attends Mass, she gives First Holy Communion Retreats and Confirmation Retreats, and Youth Retreats.

She is the Vocations Director/Promoter for the Cabra Dominican Sisters in South Africa and helps young Catholic ladies to discern their Vocation.

She also works with the Dominican Youth in SA and collaborates with another Dominican Sister in East London within this ministry.

Reflection, Prayer and Contemplation

Dominicans are a community of tens of thousands that has endured for eight centuries, are bound together by a deep spirituality that sets them apart from other religious orders.

This distinctive spirituality is often embodied in what we call the “Four Pillars of Dominican Life” – Prayer, Study, Community, and Preaching.

These pillars are inspired by the example of St. Dominic, who was known for his continuous connection with God and his tireless dedication to sharing the message of God.
